Caretaker Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal will leave for New York, USA for a week on September 17 to attend the 65th General Assembly of the United Nations, if a new Prime Minister is not elected till then. PM Nepal will attend the meeting of mountainous countries, underdeveloped countries and that on bio-diversity in the sidelines of the General Assembly. Nepal has fielded a formed senior UN official Kul Chandra Gautam for the post of chairman of the 65th General Assembly. PM Nepal is lobbying hard by consulting various Asian countries to vote for Gautam.
