A senior member of Limbuvan State was arrested from Jhapa

Police on Friday arrested a senior member of Limbuvan State Force, an armed outfit involved in a daring attack on a police station in Ilam three weeks ago. Netra Nemwang, 31, spokesperson of the underground outfit fighting for a separate Limbuvan autonomous state in few districts of eastern Nepal was arrested from Dharampur of western part of the district today. According to the District Police Office, Nemwang, who is also the party's military commander, had planned the attack on the police station in which couple of policemen were also injured. The outfit's cadres had also taken away guns and ammunitions from the police station following the attack. Police said they will initiate legal action against Nemwang by charging him of illegal possession of weapons and robbery. Police said Nemwang has already confessed to his involvement in the attack on the police station.
